Vintage Al Mar Knives #4013 Tanken Shogun II #090/200 - New 1988

Description

This vintage Al Mar knife is just out of long-term storage and is perfect for the serious collector.
A former sales rep. sample of ours, it has never been used, carried, sharpened, or sold at retail.  It was only shown to retailers, catalog companies, etc. during our approx. 12 years as sales reps. for the Mar's in 11 Western states.
This is essentially a brand new 35-year old knife and shows the precision craftsmanship and beautiful designs Al was known for.
I love the dramatic long blade on this #4013 Shogun II fixed blade from the Tanken Series.
This one is Serialized #090/200
Shoguns had the handle spacers for added grip length and comfort.
These Shogun's were a good looking, but short-lived add-on to the Tanken Series that was discontinued in about 1989.

Sharpened dramatic deep hollow grinds with satin finish
14 5/8" OAL
Brass guard
Alignment of the three spacer rings is average for this series with minor misalignment top/bottom.
Molded black DuPont Zytel handle with grooves, lanyard slot, and checkering for a secure grip.
Small scratches/pitting in ricasso by Seki Japan and Al Mar logo
A clean blade with few marks, but the grinds are a little wavy with grinding boggles mostly in the top grinds.
Leather and poly bag are missing.
