RARE 1970s CAMILLUS 1012 USA HANDMADE SWORD BRAND Vtg. STAG HUNTING KNIFE & CASE

WELCOME:
For your consideration: a beautiful
CAMILLUS  1012  SWORD  BRAND  HANDMADE
hunting/skinning knife.  This hard to find
model
is one great vintage knife to own and carry, and is from my personal knife collection.
It was manufactured years ago in the
United States by the
Camillus Cutlery Company
and
the
Original
Camillus leather sheath
is included.
The early production date of these popular Camillus small bowie
knives was in the
1970's
.
T
he Camillus Cutlery Co.'s guarantee states:
"that each Camillus knife is hand honed under oil, and hand stropped on leather,
in order to preserve it for years to come"
Remember, “
Back in their day”
these older knives were purchased to be used,
Not collected...making it difficult to find in such great vintage condition.

TRADEMARKS:
The blade is bodly stamped:
CAMILLUS
USA  #1012
The same side of the blade is "etched" with the image of
"Two Crossed Swords"
(which
is only partially visible) and also the words:
SWORD    BRAND
HAND MADE
(which is only partially visible)
HANDLE:
This stag-like handle has
beautiful
rich color tones
and is made of a quality
synthetic material;
Delrin or Staglon.
The  jigged-bone pattern captures
the look and feel of a real antler/bone and the handle has
no looseness.
The composite handle is in
Great Condition
for its age and has a few light signs of handling/usage but there are
No chips or cracks
.
Delrin and Staglon composite handles like this one, are known for their quality construction and long lasting durability.
This Camillus 1012 handle is well-secured with
two metal rivets.
The handle it easy to grip and the knife feels balanced and solid when held in your hand
.
The
chromed
finger guard
has some tiny surface marks but the chrome finish is good and bright.
This shiny half gaurd measures
1  5/16" long
and offers good hand protection while in use.
BLADE:
This reflectiv
e
clip-point
blade
has a handy
up-swept notched thumb rest
for better blade control.  The steel fixed blade has some light surface scratches and/or short light surface honing marks.
The knife blade appears
straight
, the
tip is pointed,
the blade edge seems
sharp.
This is an Exceptionally Good previously used Camllus 1012 knife with
No looseness
and
No blade edge nicks.
As stated by the Camillus Factory: "this blade is made of
"high quality steel to assure ruggedness and exceptional cutting ability, plus the steel is hardened and tempered by exact electronic controls".

SHEATH:
The companion
Camillus 1012
leather sheath
(or case) is included and measures
9  3/8" long
.  This Original sheath has
great intact stitching
,
working fastening strap and metal snap
,
large belt loop
, and
secure metal rivets
.
The
leather sheath has some surface scuffs and signs of normal handling for its age.
This vintage
Camillus factory-made sheath
fits the knife like a glove and is the Original to the knife
.

a lot of character and vintage appeal....with that slight "patina of time" appearance not yet achieved with newer knives.
