    Description

    Up for auction is a nice, vintage Western hunting, knife. It is a model 48B. The knife is in used condition. The blade has patina, light pitting and staining. Nothing is loose on the knife. I believe that this tang stamp dates the knife from between 1934 to 1950. From what I’ve been able to learn, the tang stamps stopped mentioning the patent after 1950. It also appears that these early knives were not stamped with a model number designation.
    The knife is around 7 1/4" long with a blade that is around 3 1/2" long. A brand new, handmade custom leather sheath comes with the knife. I made this sheath specifically for this knife so it fits it perfectly.
