Description
Bowie Dagger style knife by George Woodhead of Sheffield. This is a very period piece showing a lot of carry and use. The attached sheath is most likely a period replacement but came to us with the knife discovery. The 4 3/4" blade shows honing marks and stains, the tip is slightly rounded, but the blade edges are of a sharpened texture. The 3/4" wide blade is clearly marked G. Woodhouse with some lettering faded and the address of 36 Howard Street, Sheffield. The grip is an ivory colored bone, with fracturing near the lower bolster and a break at the center bolster but the grip is intact and repairs could be successfully effected. The pommel is of wood and is damaged on one side. But the knife and grip are solidly attached and strong. Grip length is 3 5/8" with an overall length of 8 3/4".We
do not
ship internationally.
