    Description

    Sterling silver napkin ring with relief of bold diagonal and vertical decorative band lines forming a Celtic weave with beaded rims, and hand engraved on an applied shield reserve "Mary E. Fendrick".  The napkin ring weighs 1.5 troy ounces and measures 1 3/4 inches high and 1 7/8 inches in diameter.  Marked on the inside band with Gorham's trademark, "Sterling", the shop number "1940", and the date mark star in a circle for 1888.  There are numerous tiny nicks and scratches on the body, tiny nicks on the rim, some unevenness of denting to the body and especially to the applied shield, otherwise in good antique condition.
