Fine Vintage Ka-Bar 5" Hunting Knife! Finger Grooved Stacked Leather Handle!

Offered for your consideration is a classic vintage Ka-bar hunting knife.  This is a solid, sturdy knife with a versatile design that's well-suited for a wide range of common sporting applications.  It makes for an excellent general purpose belt knife.
The knife has seen moderate use and it remains very nice with just a slightly rounded tip.  It has not been cleaned or buffed and remains original.
The knife presents a classic look and it's very solid.  The sturdy blade appears to have been ground from chromed carbon steel.  The chromed blade finish remains intact with a few traces of the original deeply mirrored finish flashing through.  It's free of any corrosion or pitting with no stains or discoloration.  The blade has been sharpened numerous times and exhibits just a bit of sharpening loss as shown.  The finish if free of errant grinder marks or harsh sharpening abrasions with just some fine sharpening abrasions as shown.  The edge is free of any cracks, chips, dings, or damage and remains nice with just some normal wear.  The tip is slightly rounded and looks as though it was re-profiled a bit after a slight tip break.  The spine if free of any dings, dents, marring, or damage and the blade remains straight with no bending or twist.  The blade remains somewhat sharp, although a fresh edge would have it razor sharp and resolve the tip issue.  The oval double guard is of brass and it's free of any bending, marring, or damage.  It remains tight with no looseness or play.  The handle is of stacked leather between sections of Vulcanized rubber, white, and brass spacers.  The handle is finger grooved and it was very nicely done all the way around.  The leather spacers all remain completely tight and correctly aligned with no looseness.  Actually, all of the handle components remain correctly aligned and tight.  The leather is beautifully aged and free of any cuts, tears, gouges, dry rot, or damage.  The leather is also free of any degradation, insect, or rodent damage and it has a great feel in the hand.  The color is even all the way around with no bleaching, sun fade, stains, or discoloration.  The pommel is of aluminum and it's free of any significant dents, gouges, marring, or damage with just a couple light dings as shown.  It remains solid and tight as well.  In fact, the entire knife remains solid and tight with not a wiggle or rattle anywhere.
The blade is 5" and the knife measures 9-3/8" in overall length.
The leather belt sheath is the original, although it has some issues.  It was crafted from thick leather with tooling on the front panel.  The retainer strap is missing and there's a small cut/tear around the throat rivet and first stitch.  The rest of the stitching remains intact and tight, as are the steel rivets.  There's also a small crack/tear just back from the tip.  This is fairly minor and resulted from repetitive bending of the tip.
